Recommended for trips of up to 15 days, this itinerary will take you to explore the northern area of Chilean Patagonia through our iconic Carretera Austral. The journey takes roads surrounded by dense forests, glaciers, rivers and lakes, many of them protected by reserves and national parks.
If you have more days available for travelling it is worth taking Carretera Austral as far as Villa O’Higgins, its last destination. This way you will have covered the northern stretch of Carretera Austral completely and the amazing landscapes that Patagonia plain offers, its large rivers and wind sculpted rocky mountains.
